Fast and the furious: Tokyo Drift

You know it wasn't all that bad. Suspend your BMI and Drift Bible knowledge and just come knowing that drifting means cars going sideways and the movie is clearly better than #2.

Interesting note about the people in the movie though:

Keiichi tsuchiya makes a cameo however I did felt he was sub'd incorrectly. He clearly says counter not dori yet the sub makes reference to "they call that drifting"

Toshi Hayama (VP of Apex NA and a regular at the D1 events) I first caught on the plane to japan yet in japan he is the "gate checker" to the first meet up with DK.... I dont feel that they should have called the evil villan the DK (or given anyone else the title) since they did have Keiichi as a cameo.

Also Han's mechanic face kept on bugging me. It wasn't till dinner that I've realized where I seen him before... he is jason Tobin of Better luck tomorrow, which I believe he played opposite of Parry Shen (I guess I really liked that movie afterall.)

And it was quite obvious who was the "friend" of Han (also of better luck tomorrow fame Sung Kang) at the end...... richie and I both yelled out his named and applauded and disrupted the viewing of all 7 people in the theater.

So would I watch this again. YES! Would I buy the DVD YES! Is it a documentary of drifting... no.. but none of the F&F were any real documentary of street racing. At least they put Mr. Dori Dori in it, to me it says, yes you are the king and thank you for being in the movie for if it was without you there would be no way for us to milk the money out of people.

To me the Fast and the Furious franchise is akin to kids these days that dont know who Chuck D, Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One are. It is corporate americans vision of racing (Mustang fastback with a SR20DET swap). Its all commercial and built to entertain not educate. You wanna dance and grind with big bootty hoes you listen to Nelly. You want to drop knowledge..... KRS is still #1!

Tokyo Drift is entertaining and sometimes you just want to sit and be entertained and this works!

Yes, I took that picture of the title screen in the theater....with the flash of my cell phone hahahaha

I will never like FF3. I will stick to my BMI, JDM insider, and Drift Bible. I have no time or patience for a commercialized and dumbed down version of something I really love. If it works for the masses who don't know what dori is, then what a shame this is what they get. Whah Whah Whah! :p
